All items at James Booth Woodwork are hand-crafted. This means processing times vary depending on whether the item is made to order or ready-made.
Made-to-Order Items
Most of our woodwork is made to order.
Typical production time: 3–7 business days
(This may be longer for larger commissions or complex pieces.)
Ready-Made Items
If the item is already complete and in stock:
Dispatch time: 1–2 business days

Large custom projects, live-edge work, and specialty turning may require additional time. We will always communicate timeframes clearly before starting production.
International Shipping Policy
Overview
James Booth Woodwork ships selected products internationally. Smaller items such as lathe-turned pieces, small boards, and accessories can be shipped worldwide. Larger or oversized pieces (such as live-edge slabs and long centrepieces) are UK-only due to shipping size restrictions and risk of damage.

• Lathe-turned items (bowls, vases, decorative pieces)
• Small boards and accessories
• Woven crimps and smaller hardware items
Not eligible for international shipping:
• Live-edge slabs
• Table-length centrepieces
• Oversized or heavy hardwood boards
If an item is not eligible, checkout will prevent international shipping automatically.

Shipping Costs
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on:

International customers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, or customs fees. These are not included in item prices or shipping costs.

Damage During International Transit
If your order arrives damaged:
1. Contact us within 48 hours
2. Provide photos of the item and packaging
3. We will arrange a replacement or refund depending on item type and availability
Damage caused by misuse or improper installation is not covered.

We do not accept international returns for non-faulty items due to high shipping costs.
If an item is faulty or arrives damaged, we will arrange a replacement or refund.

At JB Woodwork, every piece is hand-crafted with care. Because many of our products are made to order and use natural materials, slight variations in colour and grain are normal. Your satisfaction matters greatly to us, and this policy explains how returns, exchanges, and refunds work.
Made-to-Order & Custom Items
Most of our products are made to order.
Custom or personalised items are non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
This includes (but is not limited to):
• Live-edge pieces
• Lathe-turned projects
• Hardboards made to specific sizes or finishes

Standard Returns (Non-Custom Items)
If the item is not custom-made, you may request a return.
• Return window: 14 days from delivery
• Condition: Item must be unused and in original condition
• Return shipping: Customer pays return postage unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect
• Refund timing: 5–7 business days after the item is received and inspected

Damaged or Faulty Items
If your order arrives damaged:
1. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
2. Include photos of the item and packaging
3. We will offer either:
• A replacement
• A repair
• A full refund (including postage)
Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, or neglect is not covered.

• Before production begins: Full refund
• After production begins: No refund (materials and labour may already be used)
• Ready-made items may be cancelled any time before dispatch.

Natural Material Disclaimer
All products are crafted from real wood. Variations in grain pattern, knots, colour, and natural movement over time are normal and not considered defects.
